The use of colors in my latest sculptures is a
essential. It does not only function aesteticly, but
reveals different layers in the build-up and
accentuates the shape more clearly. Allthough the
sculptures have an almost inbedded link towards
architecture, it is important to avoid this
viewpoint and look at them purely within the
abstaction of the museum and the metropole.
The sculptures are made of cements and pigments.
During the search for the wished shape(s),
figuration is exluded because it disturbes during my
essentual investigation as well as in the final
result. The building proces, the construction of an
individual object or a group goes on, walks on,
grows till I see that itīs good. It is a black and
white yes-no proces. The slower logical way of
thinking is banned or at least putted appart during
the intelectual proces of creation. This elimination
does not only have the function to keep the
construction pure and abstract, but to open as many
roads as possible (within my minimal material
occupation) to an as creative and renewing possible
working proces. This results in strong, clear and
almost obvious objects. The exclusion, and therefor
purification, works as a filter and creates a focus
on what has not-been-said, on what I have not been
able yet to pronounce. It is a search for an image,
an almost obvious form, that can fill up a necessary
deficiency within the constuction of my landscape.
This does not make the work easier, but makes the
proces as the result more interesting |
